Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 bag Grown in Idaho® Super Crispy Shoestring Fries, 28 oz

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 medium yellow onions, chopped

  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/4 cup ketchup

  • 3 tbsp sweet relish

  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard

  • 1 tsp white vinegar

  • 6 slices American cheese

  • A pinch of Kosher salt

Directions

  1. To make caramelized onions, heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions, season with salt, and cook until they begin to soften. After 10 minutes, cover and continue to cook, stirring every 5 minutes. Onions should be golden brown after 40–45 minutes. Set aside.

  2. To make burger sauce, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet relish, yellow mustard and vinegar. Stir together and set aside.

  3. Prepare fries according to package instructions.

  4. Place American cheese slices over fries in a single layer. Place back in the oven for about 1 minute or until cheese melts.

  5. Allow fries to cool slightly before adding caramelized onions and drizzle of burger sauce. Serve immediately.
